Jack Davis |
Jack Davis has worked in the diagnostics industry for more than 25 years, leading both diagnostic kit manufacturing and clinical laboratory services companies as President and CEO. After fifteen years at Abbott Diagnostics, culminating in the role of Division Vice President for the Diagnostics Products division, Mr. Davis moved to American Home Products as Division President for their diagnostic products division Analytab. He then joined the Board of Genica Pharmaceutical, a neurology laboratory testing services company, where he was soon made Acting CEO, then Chairman of the Board. As Chairman Mr. Davis oversaw the sale of Genica Pharmaceutical to Athena Neurosciences. He then co-founded Dianon Systems, a specialty anatomic pathology lab, where he held the positions of President, CEO, and Chairman over the years prior to the company’s sale to LabCorp. Mr. Davis went on to be President and CEO of Calypte Biomedical, the diagnostic developer which launched the first FDA-approved urine test for HIV-1. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Asterand, and a Director on the boards of Laboratory Partners and Redpath Integrated Pathology, among others. |
Heiner Dreismann, Ph.D. |
Heiner Dreismann, Ph.D., received his M.A. in Biology from Westfalische Wilheims University in Munster, Germany and his Ph.D. in Microbiology/Molecular Biology from the University of Munster. He joined F. Hoffmann La Roche AG in 1985, and held various national and international management positions, including head of manufacturing for microbiological diagnostics, head of R&D microbiological diagnostics and head of the Business Area Microbiology. After Roche’s acquisition of PCR technology in 1991, Dr. Dreismann made significant contributions to the organizational and financial growth of the Molecular Business Area, as the head of the PCR Business Unit for Europe and the head of the strategic planning for PCR diagnostics. He led the Integration Office for Diagnostics following the merger of Boehringer Mannheim and Roche Diagnostics in 1998; followed by positions as head of communications and public relations for Roche in Germany and head of business development/licensing for the Roche Diagnostics Division. He was named President and CEO of Roche Molecular Diagnostics (RMD) in January 2001, Roche Diagnostics’ global business area responsible for the development, manufacture and distribution of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) products. Dr. Dreismann serves on several boards of biotech and diagnostic companies. |

Seth D. Feuerstein, MD, JD |
Dr. Feuerstein is a manager at Maven BioCapital, LLC. Before Maven, he was a co-founding general partner at Elm Street Ventures, LP. Both funds are investors in health care and life science technology companies. He has experience in both investing and operating roles at companies including Carigent Therapeutics Inc., a therapeutic company. Dr. Feuerstein’s experience also includes consulting for Yale University ’s Office of Cooperative Research and his first work in the field was during residency training at Yale where he created a fellowship for the training of physicians in translating university research to industry. He completed his medical and law degrees at New York University (in a joint program he created) and received his B.S. at Cornell University where he graduated with honors. |
Rana K. Gupta |
Previous to joining HistoRx, Mr. Gupta was a Managing Director at Navigator Technology Ventures (NTV), the lead A Round investor in HistoRx. Prior to his position with NTV, he was Product Manager for Global Services with yet2.com, a B2B marketplace for technology transfer. Before that, Mr. Gupta founded IndoSine U.S. Link, Ltd., a business development company that helps clients to expand businesses in India, China, and the U.S. While at IndoSine, Mr. Gupta co-founded a wireless software company, International Solutions, for which he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Previous to IndoSine, he served as Manager, PRC Investment Strategy for Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in China. Before joining Zeneca, he was Senior Consultant at Arthur D. Little, Inc. and served as a member of the start-up team for the company's Bangalore, India office. He holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business, an MS in Operations Research from Stanford University, and a BA in Mathematics from Earlham College. |

Ronald M. Lindsay, PhD |
Ronald M. Lindsay, Ph.D., has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry for more than 25 years, leading discovery and preclinical research efforts primarily in neuroscience but also in genomics and cancer. Following post-doctoral work at the Friedrich Miescher Institute, Basel, Dr. Lindsay was a staff member at the National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London, prior to moving to industry as Head of Cell Biology at the Sandoz Institute, for Medical Research, University College, London. Dr. Lindsay entered the biotechnology industry as a founding Program Director of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc, NY, and has subsequently held senior executive positions at Regeneron, Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc, diaDexus Inc., and Sequenom Inc.. Currently, Dr. Lindsay is Executive Vice President R&D and a director of Sequenom Inc (SQNM), and runs a biotechnology consulting enterprise. He is non-executive Director of Arqule Inc., a consultant to Stemnion Inc and Chairman of Neurocentrx Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Scotland. Dr. Lindsay has authored over 150 peer reviewed publications. |
Frederic H. Morris |
Mr. Morris is a founder and Partner of Brook Venture Funds I and II. Brook I with related partnerships invested $25 million into 17 companies; Brook II is a $100 million venture fund with SBIC license that has invested in 15 companies to date. Brook’s strategy is to focus on under-$5 million investments into expansion stage medical and information technology companies. Fund I has achieved top-quartile returns in its vintage peer group. In addition to HistoRx, Mr. Morris is on the Boards of PointCare Technologies, Inc.; Verge Solutions, LLC; Bioscan, Inc.; Security Innovation, Inc.; Telematch, Inc. (d/b/a Relevate); Laser Projection Technologies, Inc.; and Atlas Watersystems, Inc. Prior to forming Brook, Mr. Morris founded and led the Specialized Lending Division of State Street Bank in Boston where he was a Senior Vice President and member of the Management Committee. Mr. Morris holds a BA from Yale and earned his MBA from Harvard after serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. |
E. Jonathan Soderstrom, Ph.D. |
Dr. Soderstrom is the Managing Director of the Office of Cooperative Research at Yale University. Since joining the Office in 1996, he has participated in the formation and operation of more than 25 new ventures including polyGenomics, Molecular Staging (acquired by Qiagen), Agilix, Asilas Genomic Systems, Achillion Pharmaceuticals, PhytoCeutica, Protometrix (acquired by Invitrogen), Iconic Therapeutics, Applied Spine Technologies, HistoRx,VaxInnate, Affomix, and Kolltan Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this position, Dr. Soderstrom was the Director of Program Development for Oak Ridge National Laboratory after serving for 10 years as Director of Technology Licensing for Martin Marietta Energy Systems. Dr. Soderstrom was a founding board member and past president of the Association of Federal Technology Transfer Executives and a member of the Licensing Executive Society and Association of University Technology Managers, for which he currently serves as Vice President for Public Policy and a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Dr. Soderstrom was honored as the 87th "Point of Light" by President George H. W. Bush in March of 1990 for his volunteer involvement in constructing and rehabilitating low-income housing in East Tennessee. Dr. Soderstrom received a PhD from Northwestern University and an AB from Hope College. |
