Seth D. Feuerstein, MD, JD

Dr. Feuerstein is a manager at Maven BioCapital, LLC.  Before Maven, he was a co-founding general partner at Elm Street Ventures, LP.  Both funds are investors in health care and life science technology companies.  He has experience in both investing and operating roles at companies including Carigent Therapeutics Inc., a therapeutic company.  Dr. Feuerstein’s experience also includes consulting for Yale University ’s Office of Cooperative Research and his first work in the field was during residency training at Yale where he created a fellowship for the training of physicians in translating university research to industry.  He completed his medical and law degrees at New York University (in a joint program he created) and received his B.S. at Cornell University where he graduated with honors.

Gregory Gardiner, PhD

Formerly the Managing Director of Yale University's Office of Cooperative Research, Dr. Gardiner established and implemented strategies to develop the university's intellectual assets and restructured policies to attract venture capital and promote local development of companies based on Yale technology. During his tenure, the OCR completed more than 100 license agreements and formed 12 new ventures. Prior to joining Yale, Dr. Gardiner spent 23 years at Pfizer in senior-level positions in licensing, marketing, and research, including 10 years as Group Director of Central Research for Pfizer's R&D Operations. At Pfizer, Dr. Gardiner designed and implemented the biotechnology investment strategy; oversaw identification, negotiation, and management of collaborative research arrangements and managed an associated equity portfolio; implemented changes in corporate financial procedures to facilitate investments in biotechnology companies; and participated in the management of worldwide drug discovery, with responsibility for the scientific evaluation of prospective licensing candidates that included Aricept®, Lipitor, and Celebrex®. He currently also serves as a director of Cellular Genomics, VaxInnate, and Specialty Chemical Services. Dr. Gardiner earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Fordham University, was a Sterling Fellow in Chemistry at Yale, and holds a BS in Biology from Fordham University.

Rana K. Gupta

Previous to joining HistoRx, Mr. Gupta was a Managing Director at Navigator Technology Ventures (NTV), the lead A Round investor in HistoRx. Prior to his position with NTV, he was Product Manager for Global Services with yet2.com, a B2B marketplace for technology transfer. Before that, Mr. Gupta founded IndoSine U.S. Link, Ltd., a business development company that helps clients to expand businesses in India, China, and the U.S. While at IndoSine, Mr. Gupta co-founded a wireless software company, International Solutions, for which he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Previous to IndoSine, he served as Manager, PRC Investment Strategy for Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in China. Before joining Zeneca, he was Senior Consultant at Arthur D. Little, Inc. and served as a member of the start-up team for the company's Bangalore, India office. He holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business, an MS in Operations Research from Stanford University, and a BA in Mathematics from Earlham College.

Alain Hanover

Mr. Hanover is the Managing Director and CEO of Navigator Technology Ventures (NTV). Prior to founding NTV, he helped to launch five start-up companies as Managing Partner of Main Street Partners, a seed-stage venture capital firm. Before that, he co-founded InCert Software Corporation, which he led as President and CEO; and co-founded ViewLogic Systems, Inc., an electronic design automation software company he took public while serving as President, CEO, and Chairman. ViewLogic grew to $150 million in sales when it was sold to Synopsys in 1997. Mr. Hanover is also a co-founder of CommonAngels, Boston's leading angel investor group, and has been an early-stage investor in or advisor to more than 20 private companies. He is the recipient of Inc. magazine's 1993 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He currently serves as a Director of several for-profit companies and non-profit organizations, including Actuality Systems, FQS International, Sionex Corporation, Tizor Systems, Applix, Bitpipe, CommonAngels of Lexington, Saoirse Corporation, MIT Venture Mentoring Service, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, and Massachusetts Software & Internet Council. Mr. Hanover holds an OPM degree from the Harvard Business School, an MS in applied math from Harvard University, and a BS in electrical engineering and mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ronald M. Lindsay, PhD

Ronald M. Lindsay, Ph.D., has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years, leading discovery and preclinical research efforts primarily in neuroscience but also in genomics and cancer. Following post-doctoral work at the Friedrich Miescher Institute, Basel, Dr. Lindsay was a staff member at the National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London, prior to moving to industry as Head of Cell Biology at the Sandoz Institute, for Medical Research, University College, London. Dr. Lindsay entered the biotechnology industry as a founding Program Director of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc, NY, and has subsequently held senior executive positions at Regeneron, Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc and diaDexus Inc. Currently, Dr. Lindsay is a non-executive director of Sequenom Inc (SQNM), and the privately held French company Neuro3D and runs a biotechnology consulting enterprise. He is a member of the scientific advisory boards of Serono Intl and Rinat Inc and a Senior Advisor to the German/US venture group TVM GmbH.

Frederic H. Morris

Mr. Morris is a founder and Partner of Brook Venture Funds I and II. Brook I with related partnerships invested $25 million into 17 companies; Brook II is a $100 million venture fund with SBIC license that has invested in 15 companies to date.  Brook’s strategy is to focus on under-$5 million investments into expansion stage medical and information technology companies.  Fund I has achieved top-quartile returns in its vintage peer group.  In addition to HistoRx, Mr. Morris is on the Boards of PointCare Technologies, Inc.; Peminic, Inc.; Bioscan, Inc.; Security Innovation, Inc.; Telematch, Inc.; Laser Projection Technologies, Inc.; and Atlas Watersystems, Inc. Prior to forming Brook, Mr. Morris founded and led the Specialized Lending Division of State Street Bank in Boston where he was a Senior Vice President and member of the Management Committee. Mr. Morris holds a BA from Yale and earned his MBA from Harvard after serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.

E. Jonathan Soderstrom, Ph.D.

Dr. Soderstrom is the Managing Director of the Office of Cooperative Research at Yale University. Since joining the Office in 1996, he has participated in the formation and operation of more than 25 new ventures including polyGenomics, Molecular Staging, Agilix, Asilas Genomic Systems, Achillion Pharmaceuticals, PhytoCeutica, Protometrix, Applied Spine Technologies, and VaxInnate. Prior to this position, Dr. Soderstrom was the Director of Program Development for Oak Ridge National Laboratory after serving for 10 years as Director of Technology Licensing for Martin Marietta Energy Systems. Dr. Soderstrom was a founding board member and past president of the Association of Federal Technology Transfer Executives and a member of the Licensing Executive Society and Association of University Technology Managers, for which he currently serves as Vice President for Public Policy and a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Dr. Soderstrom was honored as the 87th "Point of Light" by President George H. W. Bush in March of 1990 for his volunteer involvement in constructing and rehabilitating low-income housing in East Tennessee. Dr. Soderstrom received a PhD from Northwestern University and an AB from Hope College.
